Concord operates a fleet of wheelchair vans designed to offer alternative non-emergency medical transportation to our contracted facilities. Wheelchair vans are staffed with one driver trained in CPR. The majority of our vans operate within a scheduled environment and, in order to provide prompt service, we prefer a minimum of 24 hour notice when scheduling
patient transports. We provide some facilities with dedicated vans for inter-hospital transports and clinic visits. Our wheelchair vans are only available to contracted facilities.
Each wheelchair van carries it's own wheelchair and has a lift with a capacity of 400 lbs. We recommend all patients be accompanied by a family member or a facility staff member. Our vans can carry two accompanying people. When accompanying a patient, it is recommended you keep our dispatch center
phone number with you at all times if you intend that we provide your return pickup. We will not automatically return for the patient.
Please be advised...... Medicare and Medicaid does not provide reimbursement for
wheelchair van transportation charges. |
